Dental Hygiene Cleaning. During a dental cleaning, specialized instruments remove dental plaque and tartar (calculus) from the teeth. Our experienced hygienists will use an ultrasonic device to loosen larger deposits of tartar and then manually remove smaller deposits and smooth the surface. Once the tooth surfaces have been cleaned of tartar and plaque, the teeth are cleaned and polished. To maintain your healthy smile, we recommend Sonicare toothbrushes for at-home oral care.

Fluoride. A natural substance that helps strengthen teeth and prevent decay, fluoride treatments are administered at this office as an important component of dental care. The fluoride is applied to the teeth in a gel, foam, or varnish form.

Dental Sealants. Made of a safe resin material, dental sealants are applied to the surfaces and crevices of teeth (commonly permanent molars) to prevent cavities. Sealants  “seal” off the tooth from cavity-causing agents like food and plaque. Applied in one visit, the teeth are prepared for the sealant application and the sealant is painted directly onto the chewing surface of each tooth and then hardens.
