Sleep Disordered Breathing Treatments with Fotona® NightLase®

At Dental Partners of Vero Beach, we provide Fotona® NightLase® therapy treatments. These non-invasive laser treatments are intended to reduce the effects of snoring and sleep apnea and enhance sleep quality. The NightLase® system utilizes a gentle, laser-induced skin tightening effect caused by collagen contraction in the oral mucosa tissue. These treatments are safe, effective, and gentle enough to be used on the sensitive tissue inside the mouth while still providing clinically effective heating.

An entire course of NightLase consists of three separate treatment sessions over six weeks. The treatment results have been shown to last up to a year, and the therapy treatments can be repeated.

Patients find NightLase® to be a highly comfortable and satisfying treatment solution. The treatments are known to have a high success rate in producing positive changes in sleep patterns, improving nasal breathing, and reducing nasal resistance and obstruction, which can positively impact sleep and the airway.

TMJ Treatments with Fotona ComfortLase™

Laser therapy has been proven to be an effective treatment for pain relief. Dental Partners of Vero Beach offers TMJ laser treatment using the Fotona ComfortLase™ system. The light energy penetrates deep into the tissues, stimulating cellular regeneration and promoting blood circulation. This process reduces inflammation, accelerates healing, and alleviates chronic and acute pain.

Patients with temporomandibular joint disorder (TMD) often suffer from continuous pain even after conventional treatment. Laser therapy has shown promising outcomes in reducing pain for TMD patients. If you are experiencing persistent TMJ pain, consult with our trusted doctors at Dental Partners of Vero Beach, who offer laser therapy. Call us to see if this treatment option is right for you.

Frenectomy Procedures with LightScapel® CO2 Laser

A frenectomy is an oral surgery to release tissue that interferes with proper tongue movement.  This procedure is recommended for a tongue tie (lingual release) and a lip tie (labial release).  At Dental Partners of Vero Beach, frenectomies are performed using our LightScapel® CO2 Laser.  Patients report minimal discomfort and better tongue function within the first seven days after the procedure.

Our laser team is highly trained to utilize the technology according to strict guidelines. We require our patients to wear laser goggles or glasses to protect their eyes from harmful laser wavelengths of light.

Frequently Asked Questions about Laser Treatments

Am I a good candidate for NightLase®?
Before a NightLase® recommendation from one of our doctors, an evaluation would be conducted to determine what sleep and breathing issues you are experiencing. After a thorough examination a treatment plan would be recommended that includes sleep and airway solution recommendations. Your dentist would determine a course of action and discuss with you at that time if they feel that NightLase® laser therapy would be an option for you.
Who performs Laser TMJ therapy?
The dentists at Dental Partners of Vero Beach are qualified to perform Laser TMJ therapy. We use a light-emitting "wand" to target the affected tissues with the Fotona ComfortLase™ system. Our personalized treatment plans target your condition to achieve the best possible outcomes.
What are the Benefits of Laser Treatments for Patients with TMJ?
Using lasers to treat TMJ has significant benefits. Light energy allows for gentler procedures with less inflammation. Laser treatment is non-surgical and non-invasive, with no side effects or downtime. Patients have shared that they have had no pain or discomfort during the treatment. Receiving a pain-free treatment is a huge benefit for TMJ patients who are already suffering from pain and discomfort caused by swelling and inflammation.
Why is having a Laser Frenectomy widely recommended?
A standard and simple procedure is a laser frenectomy. Once the area to be treated is numb, a doctor uses a laser to cut the tissue. Laser frenectomies are less invasive, quicker, and gentler than a common scalpel surgical procedure. Lasers do more than just cut; they also help sterilize the site and support quick blood clotting. They aid the healing process by biostimulating the tissue. Since the site has a head start on healing, suturing is seldom needed. Because lasers are so precise, the results of any laser treatment – not just a frenectomy – are far more predictable than conventional treatment.
