VATECH Green2 CBCT

Cone beam scanner

At Dental Partners of Vero Beach, we prioritize our patients' dental and overall health. Our Vatech Green2 CBCT technology allows us to conduct comprehensive scans for a thorough analysis, enabling us to provide the best possible care.

As part of our commitment to new patients, we offer a complimentary CBCT scan during their initial examination using our Vatech Green2 CBCT. This scan produces detailed images of a patient’s dental, oral, and airway health, providing valuable information for our comprehensive examination.

This equipment is high-tech enough to take 150-200 high-resolution images in less than a minute, yet is safe enough for children of all ages due to its extremely low radiation. The Vatech Green2 CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) takes images in a 360-degree view and integrates them into our CAD/CAM system. We can obtain a more comprehensive view than other devices, enabling our doctors to assess healthy and abnormal images.

Benefits of the Vatech Green2 CBCT:

  • Uses less radiation than standard X-rays
  • Is the only CT approved for children due to its extremely low radiation
  • Requires fewer scans
  • Provides much more details about dental, oral, and airway health
  • Shows both bone and tissue imaging

These comprehensive images obtain data and explicit details that reconstruct a 3D image of a patient's:

  • Teeth
  • Mouth
  • Jaw
  • Neck
  • TMJ
  • Airways
  • Nose
  • Sinuses
  • Throat
  • Nasal Cavity
  • Other surrounding anatomical structures of the head and neck region

Our CBCT also allowed us to diagnose a jaw fracture that a hospital X-ray failed to detect.

Frequently Asked Questions about CBCT Technology

What is Vatech Green2 CBCT Technology?
The Vatech Green2 CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) is an X-ray scanning equipment that creates a 3D view and cross-sections of scanned areas. When taking a CBCT, we can see and diagnose more accurately than conventional dental X-rays. Our doctors will not only evaluate every tooth (detecting any chronic/silent abscesses, fractures, or bone loss), but they also evaluate your sinuses, nasal passage, airway, and TMJ joint. This scanning system's digital images help our dentists analyze the areas scanned to assist in treatment planning.
What is the Process of Taking a CBCT Scan?
Before the scan, patients are asked to stand in the area where the CBCT scanner is housed. They are instructed to place their chin in a chin rest and bite on a jaw positioner. The scanner then moves around the patient in a 360-degree rotation to capture high-resolution images. The scan takes approximately 20 to 40 seconds and produces hundreds of digital photos.
Do I have to do anything before the scan?
Patients are asked to remove metal objects such as jewelry, glasses, hair pins, removable dental work, and hearing aids, as these items may affect the quality of the images.
What are the benefits of Vatech Green2 CBCT Scans?

Vatech Green2 CBCT Scans offer multiple benefits to patients as this technology is:

  • Accurate
  • Non-invasive
  • Painless
  • Low Radiation
  • Only CT Approved for Children
  • Dentists can detect issues before the onset of pain

Vatech Green2 CBCT Scans:

  • Show bone and soft tissue simultaneously
  • Provide more information than traditional scans
  • Show more angles and views in imaging
  • Have excellent image quality
Who interprets the results of the CBCT?
The dentists at Dental Partners of Vero Beach analyze the images and discuss the results during your office visit. Scans will be displayed on monitors in the exam room for you to see and review with your dentist.
